In Depth: Kelly is a sweet girl, our second puppy from Brondiki (Rosalind Cich outside Milwaukee). She is light wheaten and is an International champion and Junior Courser. Our granddaughter Ashton considers Kelly “hers” but they barely have room for the teacup chihuahua they have, so Kelly lives with us. When we lived in Memphis it was easy for visiting, but we haven’t seen them in over a year since we moved to the coast.
At 6, Kelly still acts like a puppy, although she had her first litter in late 2004 by Max. The breeding had some problems, because 3 weeks after the actual breeding, she went through the hurricane in Florida while with her handler. She had 11 pups after she got home, but 5 were stillborn and very small and one other had some health issues but is with a pet family in the Memphis area.
Kelly will be bred by Max again later this year, so keep your fingers crossed that the weather cooperates. It gets very hot here and early pregnancies are so sensitive to weather and environment, for both people and animals.
